customization wise its gen 8 but gameplay and story wise legends arceus all the way in general tho you know i lije the gamboy to ds era games best over all but no character customization
i am fond of gen 8 because it introduced applin but it did not have hydrapple... conversely gen 9 did not have cute outfits but had my boy i have not had a chance to play many of the older games but i plan to!
if you can get your hands on it people arent kiddin about gen 5s story it is legit that good imo and the gen 2 remakes again as good as peopke claim but its easier to play game boy games on an emulator and with those gen 3 both games are really good and ngl i dont like gen one very much lmao like ok it started the series it gets pounts for that but it is a slog to get through compared to other rpgs from the 90s which to be fair it has to conpete against earthbound for my love and thats not happening
srry you kind of unlocked my pokemon autism honestly tho just play what games youre most interested in hell play gen 6 even if it is kind of boring because it did breath new life into the franchise it deservse its flowers as much as gen 1 so just yeah play based on the box art legendary you like most like every kid growing up with the games before the batterwitch flooded nintando and gamefreak a week later
