Adult Alternian Gamzee associated with @caligulaAscendit Gamzee Makara, also known as "The High Grandmaster" or "The Grandmaster." Gamzee Makara had a massive falling apart of his faith, and as he entered into adulthood, he abandoned his beliefs and struck down The Grandhighblood. Gamzee spent many of his early adult years taking apart and dismantling as much of the clown religion as he could. Over the years, the purple caste would adopt a more carnival and freak show theme, and a lot of them would don masks and extravagant costumes. While a few remained as clowns, the entire cult seemingly has barely any trace left. Anyone who questioned the Makara would find that they were missing memories. Regardless, the transition out of the religion was seemingly seamless. Gamzee got high praise from the empire for shepherding the caste back into power under the empire, and the entire caste works to enforce laws for the crown. Gamzee has a conflicted relationship with the empire, while he doesn't like it, he's a victim of the system. He listens, he obeys, and anyone under him pays. Those under him watch him fall into a cycle of abusing those around him and feeling grief and anger for those he's harmed. Gamzee's carnival, while just as much a sore thumb as the Clown Cult, is more welcomed. Everything looks beautiful, if not dangerous. Gamzee comes off as a different person, shedding any of his naivety in the process of becoming an adult. He wears a mask to hide his fears; everyone prefers it. He does too.
