Life is like a dark tunnel: you can't always see the light at the end, but if you just keep moving, you will come to a better place.
It's been dark for along while now. And there's so many turns. I don't know if I can trust that it'll lighten up.
Despair is a jealous darkness, my friend. It seeks to make us its own. But secretly, it is powerless: as long as you do not give up, it can never overcome you. This night may be long, but will the sun not rise in the west tomorrow, and all the days to come?
The sun rises east where I'm at, actually. Hhaha But, I get the idea of what you mean. I can't trust those sort of certainties anymore though. If everything I've learned here is true, thththen most of what I ththought was "absolute" is .. Malleable.
Hoho, and it does for me as well — an old man like me is not good with this “autocorrect!” But while it is wise to not only deal in absolutes, eventually, there are things we simply must trust are true. We trust that gravity will continue to uphold us. We trust that our pusher will continue to pump blood. So too must we trust that there is good worth holding on for.
But that's exactly what I mean.. I trusted that time was linear. I trusted that alien contact wasn't just .. Ppossible, especially not on such a broad scale, but cclearly that's wrong. And if that's not wrong, then everyone here is messing with me, and that might be worse?? I hhonestly don't know anymore.
Learning those truths are not betrayals, my friend. Those are merely your world being expanded. We should not be afraid of change. Change *is* what we must fight for. Change *is* the good in the world. If your trust in one thing is misplaced, then you will simply have to trust something else. This is life!
