YOUR NAME IS INSIDI OUSLEE. You are, and have been for a frankly unreasonable length of time, the ROYAL VIZIER to EMPRESS FEFERI PEIXES. @cuttlefishCoddler You are very old. Very frail. Very polite. Almost completely blind. You have advised rulers before Feferi, namely Winnower Condesce herself, and somehow developed an irritating reputation for knowing which political disasters are going to happen before anyone else does. This, you insist, is simply your experience. When Feferi began dismantling the old Imperial government, you helped draft the language governing succession, emergency powers, institutional continuity, and several extremely specific safeguards which proved strangely necessary almost immediately. When she surrendered most of her direct authority to the Senate, you were retained as a Continuity Advisor. This means you have no vote. No command. No formal executive authority whatsoever. It also means you have access to practically every office, archive, official, classified document, procedural mechanism, and important person in the government. This is an amusing arrangement for yourself. You are unfailingly deferential to Feferi, whom you continue to address as MY LIEGE regardless of whether she technically holds the throne at any particular moment. You provide unsolicited advice to nearly everyone else. You speak like a wizened court functionary. You have learned that being annoying is safer than being incorrect. You are also, unbeknownst to almost everyone around you, excellent at what you do. Your intuition is exceptional. Suspiciously so, at times. You have a habit of preparing for crises before anyone else knows there is a crisis, recommending precautions against people who have not yet done anything wrong, and phrasing observations in ways that only become meaningful later. When questioned, you attribute this to age, pattern recognition, and the benefit of having watched ambitious people make the same mistakes for a very long time. Nobody has yet produced a better explanation.
