The Boötes Void (or "Great Nothing") is one of the largest known, most famous cosmic voids, spanning nearly 330 million light-years in diameter and located 700 million light-years from Earth. It is a roughly spherical region containing only about 60 galaxies, where thousands would normally be expected.
