Not all of them cause pain with their bites, actually. That's a common misconception. While what we may consider "Vampires" don't truly exist, as such an idea stems from ancient stories and urban legends, those who sustain themselves off of blood commonly possess the abilities to render any wounds they inflict painless, and as blood loss often causes most beings to become drowsy and lightheaded, a lot of victims of such feeding don't even notice. Of course, sustaining yourself off of blood implies some degree of blood-manipulation or blood-related power, and many can cause this sort of numbing-reaction without needing to bite you first.
