do you have any callming bug pheromones? if you spritz yoursellf with some itll prevent them from getting too aggressive and allow you to perform maintenance. its possiblle the frames fell out of pllace and got disconnected from the CBU (centrall buzzing unit) and that can get them really rilled.
Have you given them enough natural moonlight and zpace to grow their hive?
