piercing guns are a terrible way to pierce yourself anyway. it should just be done with a needle and steady hand. having the right jewelry in place is what's most important, as you need something long enough to accommodate swelling but not so long it's unwieldy. piercing guns gather bacteria and gunk, and the concussive force does more damage to the flesh than the needle does.
