Freud is a psychological pariah used almost exclusively as an example of improper methods. Psychoanalysis is largely regarded as make belief nonsense lacking empirical evidence and far too subjective to be of any real use. I was all about Freud when I was thirteen years old and got all of my information on the field of psychology from google articles that made me believe I had the capability to be a therapist just because I knew some of the terms. All people use Freud for nowadays is for the Oedipus and Electra complexes.
