My general rule o+f thumb fo+r piercing ho+rns is to+ no+t do+ that. Tho+ugh it do+es depend o+n the length, girth, and o+verall sensitivity o+f the ho+rns. In any case, I wo+uld go+ to+ a pro+fessio+nal ho+rn deco+ratio+n specialist, and have them do+ a nerve scan, to+ see where any nerve endings might be within the keratin cap, and do+ NO+T get any piercings do+ne within an inch o+f the tip o+f the nerve ganglia, in o+rder to+ prevent any injury o+r infectio+n which might spread alo+ng the nerve and affect yo+ur o+verall health. Also+, in the case o+f seadwellers, due to+ yo+ur exceptio+nally pro+lo+nged lifespan, be very sure that it's so+mething yo+u want do+ne, and be prepared to+ have the ho+le refilled with a keratin infused epo+xy in the event that pro+lo+nged expo+sure to+ the elements starts to+ cause mino+r chipping o+r decay aro+und the piercing site.

They were asking abo+ut piercing, which I to+o+k to+ mean creating a ho+le all the way thro+ugh the ho+rn material. Are yo+ur gems embedded in such a way that they are set into+ o+ne o+f the surface o+r mid surface levels o+f keratin? O+r are they so+meho+w actually plugging up a ho+le that was bo+red thro+ugh the material, co+mpletely?
