I have horrible news, but I would not consider him a rival. He is, at best, a two-episode minor villain. However, he is still a villain nonetheless.

I apologize, I was unaware of The Lore, thank you for explaining my narrative purpose to me. In that case, I can most definitely agree with your original statement. I am sure there will be at least one point where I am captured and must be rescued in some Ranger-Strider team-up (although I mostly say that because I have half a mind to believe Broseph would let me get a little kidnapped if he got to work with the Power Rangers).
