D --> Ah D --> Well swords have always been a t001 of the nobility D --> Compared to weapons that are simpler to use like an a%e or hammer or spear, swords require a higher level of education and training in order to utilize D --> This means that the barrier for entry is higher, and thus the weapon tended historically to be only used by those who were able to afford the time and e%pense it might take to learn the weapon from someone who knows properly how to use it D --> Often that meant the person was very rich, ergo a noble D --> Hence the sword became a symbol of noble status in it's own right D --> It doesn't require as much training or strength as a bow though so it's still inferior
