I'm very happy to see more enjoyers of art on this site.
Complex machines are far daintier than one might imagine. They seem so strong and unbreakable on the outside, but on the inside... You need to touch them gently, like a lover, be precise with every stroke. Each caress has its meaning and you get to see it twitch and shift as you connect the wires and bring it to life. Sometimes exposing the wires while the machine is still on makes it all the sweeter - you see how your touch affects it in real time, how the slightest poke elicits a magnificent reaction.

Of course, there's other projects I've done since then, but I can't stop thinking about my masterpiece - I built it up from nothing but scraps, it's a miracle, my miracle. It should have been broken beyond repair, but I made it work and made it beautiful. So of course I miss it.
Maybe a collage this time... It wouldn't be as pretty, but certainly interesting. A good thing to pass time with.
I need to get materials for my next project, to distract myself. Need to make something pretty.
I should've encased it in resin, it would've stayed beautiful and mine forever. But then, it would be entirely lifeless and I like seeing the gears turn, the parts click into each other, imagine the clockwork run.
Sometimes you think you've polished something to perfection, that it doesn't need to be worked on anymore. And then you think back on it and realise all the flaws you could correct... But of course that is only after you've lost it.
I'm growing antsy, I need to find a project to work on. I miss my old ones.
Are we talking first posts? I made mine not too long ago, go find it. If you fetch it, you might earn some praise.
