As I said, this lovely #framefriday also marks the beginning of #mistressmay, both things I have created and will continue to promote indefinitely for my own amusement, regardless of your feelings on the matter. So, how about a treat? Let us resynchronize time, with but a snap of my fingers, and allow me to entreat you with a spot of narration. Our cherubim’s game, of course, was never going to be truly ‘normal’. Too many factors combined to make that unlikely- the presence of two master classes, their very species- but chief among them was naturally the influence of my lady and myself. Still, if you were to watch this younger version of her now, you could be forgiven for assuming the opposite was true. As dear @unboundUraeus operated her side of the game, in theory the server of her currently sleeping brother, she did so with deftness and knowledge of one who had studied the game long and hard. Very soon their room was extended, on her brother’s side, and she did her due diligence. The Alchemiter, the Punch Designix, the Totem Lathe. And finally, two of the most important entry items- the Cruxtruder and the Pre-Punched Card. Fittingly enough, as it marks the formal beginning of the world’s end (marked not by a bombard of stone, but of the shattered gold debris of a moon that was destined for death.), it also was the first moment that the divergences in their session would be made clear. Unsheathing her black wand and striking the top off the Cruxtruder with a wave of red, the Kernelsprite that left the Cruxtruder alongside the Cruzite flashed rapidly between a bright candy red and a lime green, rather than the single color Calliope had been expecting. Curious and perhaps slightly worrying, yes, but my lady had no time to worry on that. She had done her part, and set up all the equipment in her brother’s room. All that had to be done was create her brother’s artifact for him, and he would do the same. So, she did. Even as she completed the artifact- a lime green egg marked with red spirals- she found herself surprised that she would be cooperating with him like this. Helping make sure he got in, when she had never intended he would play at all. Not that his continued existence was in any way pleasant! But it was an unpleasantness that could be…rectified! With the artifact completed and waiting in her brother’s now much larger room half, she returned to the center of the room, and slept. I won’t waste too much of your time with describing the next sequence of events, darlings. After all, much of it is the same as the previous. And though our dear @unendingUroborus has many deficiencies in his mind, he certainly understands rules and guidelines quite well. He was a truly quick learner when it came to games. As the bombardment of golden fragments grew even stronger and more rapid, Caliborn’s movements began to mimic that of his sisters. Her room was extended, her phernalia placed, and her artifact created. Another mirror image, this one a brilliant shade of red striped with lime. And as he did all this, the Muse of Time was equally surprised that this was, in fact, happening. Deep down, he had not expected to survive. At least not long enough to make it to the game. He certainly had more than a few people to thank for that. As do I, really, though our reasons differ! One last note. The Cruxtruder placed for Calliope by her brother? Not a kernelsprite in sight. For reasons that will soon be obvious. Before he could make any move to destroy his own artifact, as required to enter, he found that it had already begun. His egg was cracking, slowly but surely. One quick inspection showed that the same was true of his sisters. For the first time, panic came to him as the bombardment outside grew closer to their home and prison, when he realized- the Kernelsprite! Oh, how could he ever forget? Well. There was only one thing that could possibly be of use to him now. His arm- and his sister’s arm- blasted off and left tucked away after an assassination attempt by one @feferiPeixes. Hidden from me for a while, I must admit. Fortunately, my lady helped clear up some of that darkness. At the exact moment that the muse chucked his own severed limb into the red/green alternating Kernelsprite, the artifacts cracked open, and the room split in twain… Leaving the dear boy knocked unconscious, and my Lady awakened on her land. And far, far above and beyond them, a process that had begun not too long ago was complete. A wave of red finished washing over Skaia, bathing it a bright and shining crimson as crackles of rainbow energy spread across it. A sigh both of things to come, and of that which had already come. Though, really, is there much difference between the two? What happens next? Well, pardon me for teasing, but I think I’ll leave it for now. After all, you have no small part to play in it.

Oh, I’m certain, darling. It’ll be a refresher, compared to the usual adversaries.
