Question for you all as I'm curious: When you use LOL or LMAO or other such initialisms/acronyms, is it because you actually laughed?

Interesting! So it helps to act as an expression of Wanting to laugh as well as actually laughing.
Some just uses t[][]e acronym to soften a sentence, as if to pass a [][]eavy subject off as a joke. I for one don't tend to use t[][]e acronym often, but w[][]en I do, it's w[][]en I actually laug[][].
