I’m still around, promise! Piano recitals have gotten me so busy… not that anyone is really waiting for my posts anyways, haha. Still, I’m pretty aware I don’t use social media as much as my friends and they tend to complain to me about it.

I feel like you only really see people talking about ‘uncomfortable’ or ‘disturbing’ art when referring to paintings and things. But I wish people realized that is just as valuable to look into and experience with music! Sometimes people mistake ‘uncomfortable’ composition with ‘bad’ which is frustrating.
Ahhhh, I’ve barely even made any posts and I didn’t catch making a typo about a composer!! This is so embarrassing.
George Thumb is also a very fascinating composer..! I highly recommend him..!

That makes a lot more sense.. I've heard of Mr. Crumb, I remember very distinctly, I was so intensely frightened by the opening movement of Black Angels that I couldn't sit through it...
His music is very experimental and haunting, for sure! Definitely not the type of piece I would ever casually play in a room of people haha, but really effective at what it’s trying to do!
Ththat's true.. I should give it another try sometime, while actually prepared.. I let my jumpiness get in the way of so many unique soundscapes... Hhaha
sometimes getting out of your comfort zone is important! i reccomend trying again!

Um.. you know what? I like the confidence! But.. being humble is important too.
I know people find them overrated sometimes but... sometimes you really need some Bach or Chopin to guide your soul while you play..! They're famous for a reason, you know!
