forgive me if this is already a well-tread path as far as online discourse goes. i dont spend as much time online as i used to. but santa claus definitely counts as a #wizard.
In some legends he is said to be quite fey/fae aligned, so that would add to his wizardliness.
does santas workshop *need* to include a tower if its a dedicated space for honing his craft and retreating to in times of observation and study? whatever device he uses to monitor childrens behavior all year surely counts as a crystal ball in function regardless of its form.
if youre typing everything twice just for my sake you dont need to worry about me. reading backwards is not that much of a hassle.
if there were letter replacements or if things got jumbled that would be a different story but the letters are all there and in the same sequence. it takes maybe one more second per line of text. dont worry yourself too much.
i feel like hes become such a normalized figure in the public consciousness that a bit of the sense of magic has been sanded down. i think we should start depicting him in long robes again instead of pants. i think he should get a big staff. his hat is already mostly the right shape but it should have a big floppy brim.
I love his emerald green robes that he was originally depicted with. A floppy brim to his usual hat would give him a nice Gandalf look.
the green is a very good look. this wonderful gentleman would be right at home in my collection. https://images.squidge.org/images/2026/05/01/image_2026-05-02_001300338.png
I was thinking of this exact look when thinking of wizard Santa.
