I was asked to elaborate... on my power. Uhm. Meionics is an extraordinarily rare and poorly understood psionic mutation primarily associated with tactile-empathic resonance centered around reproductive tissue. Unlike conventional psionics, which tend toward communion with animals, insectoid organisms, or instinctive emotional impressions, Meionics functions through the detection and interpretation of bioelectric and hormonal activity originating from living genital structures. The ability does not allow direct mind reading. Instead, it interprets involuntary physiological and neurological responses with terrifying precision, creating something closer to an invasive emotional echolocation system than telepathy. A practitioner of Meionics can distinguish living tissue from artificial recreations almost instantly. Prosthetics, molded replicas, taxidermy, cloned flesh without active neural activity, and detached organs all produce “dead” or hollow signals. Living tissue emits a constant psychic resonance that experienced Meionics users describe as layered pulses of instinct, hormonal fluctuation, bloodflow rhythm, muscular tension, and subconscious emotional states. Arousal, fear, aggression, stress, shame, deception, illness, intoxication, and even exhaustion can subtly alter these signals. This made Meionics unexpectedly valuable to the Empire. Imperial intelligence divisions discovered that trained Meionics users could identify disguised infiltrators, detect hidden biological passengers aboard vessels, expose body doubles using artificial anatomy, and distinguish living organisms hidden within cargo or machinery. Smugglers attempting to bypass scans with prosthetics or cloned disguises often failed against Meionics inspection. The ability became particularly useful in anti-assassination efforts after several incidents involving surgically altered agents attempting to impersonate nobility or military personnel. The downside is catastrophic sensory overload. Living population centers are unbearable to most Meionics users. Crowds generate an incomprehensible storm of overlapping psychic signals that can cause migraines, panic episodes, dissociation, seizures, or violent mental breaks. Even proximity to a single highly emotional individual can become distracting or painful. Military barracks, public transit systems, feeding pits, and lowblood districts are often described by sufferers as psychic torture chambers. Because of this, severe isolation is common. Specialized environments are often constructed to dull the sensory strain. Lead-lined chambers, insulated hive walls, hormonal masking compounds, and signal-confusion environments filled with artificial decoys are used to muddy incoming resonance. Some users surround themselves with false anatomical signals or engineered organisms specifically bred to create harmless psychic “static” that dampens stronger incoming impressions. Communication through Meionics is technically possible, though unreliable and deeply invasive. Skilled users can intentionally project emotional states through controlled muscular and hormonal manipulation, allowing crude exchanges of instinctive information between compatible individuals. These exchanges are less like spoken conversation and more like transmitting emotional weather patterns directly into another nervous system. Misinterpretation is common. Prolonged exposure can create unhealthy emotional dependencies or identity confusion between participants. Many trolls consider Meionics obscene. Not necessarily because of its subject matter, but because it bypasses social performance entirely. Meionics users often become unsettlingly good at identifying insecurity, attraction, fear, dishonesty, or suppressed emotion regardless of what someone says aloud. This creates an atmosphere of paranoia around them. Some see them as freaks. Others see them as useful monsters. A few develop disturbing fascinations with them. Among underground psionic researchers, there are rumors that advanced Meionics practitioners eventually stop interpreting signals individually and instead perceive entire populations as vast interconnected emotional ecosystems of hunger, violence, reproductive instinct, and fear. Most records regarding long-term exposure outcomes remain classified by imperial authorities. As far as I know, I am the last living user of Meionics. @technicallyTimaeus I think this is helpful information based on inquiries I believe you were making following the Shades Incident. mmmm so 1ts almost l1ke a uh... MR1 bra1n scan blast but spec1f1cally to the area w1th the least 1nterference. other than maybe the abdom1nal organs. due to the 1ncreased sens1t1v1ty, the reproduct1ve t1ssues makes a lot of sense

~ That'S Such a Specific kind of psionicS. But wow, that SoundS incredibly fascinating actually, like the way it all workS. Overload iS definitely not fun though.
