I am told the 8laze that overtook the ward within which I worked last night was cont8ined with very few lives lost. It reassures me that the lime Helpsmen who aid in the suppression of fires are so ready and a8le to assist us, 8e it during the dead of night or sometimes even during the day shift. A gr8 many of them have taken to calling me 8y Swansong, in addition to Lamplady. A 8it of a harsh ja8, 8ut I do my 8est to t8ke it in stride.
