◥▶◀◤ —> Let it be known that trusted friend of the channel and confidante @aeneasCaldarium is not gay. #notgay This is an important factor for those of us familiar with Cronus. For you see, in Earth Cultures, Cronus or Saturn, is a Titan. The Epistemology of the Closet, a te%t on Queer Theory, allows us to establish the myth of the Titan Cronus with themes of homose%uality. Cronus the Titan can be interpreted through this lens. Do not do this to Cronus the Troll. At least, not this iteration of Cronus the Troll. See, there may be other Cronus the Trolls out there who do engage in non-hetero relationships. Cronus the Troll predates common modern queer culture by several universes. Cronus, however, likely has invented heterose%uality by staking such a claim. I can not find proof of any other predating heterose%ual trolls as of this moment. For now, I will consider him the Landmark Father of Heterose%uality. #funhorsefacts

◥▶◀◤ —> This will get #nsfw #gore #violence #nsfwe Cronus the Titan is the Father of Zeus, God of all Gods and Storms. Cronus has been interpreted through many modern queer lenses due to his myth regarding consuming his own family. This ties him into the ideas of anti-lineage homose%uality, anti-stability, and fears of replacement that have permeated queer cultures for thousands of sweeps on earth. He is seen as an idea of rigid to%ic masculinity and a fear of deviation from the norm due to his inability to process himself as a homose%ual man. The most symbolically loaded part of the myth is likely his castration of Uranus. Using a sickle, he castrates the other man. Removing his manhood. From this act alone, life is created, by removing the penis and testicles. Violence against patriarchal, phallic, or masculine objects or individuals can often be seen as an emergence from non-reproductive se%uality. One Hundred Years of Homose%uality argues that se%uality is a social construct of modern invention. In the original te%ts and times, Greeks were not thinking so deeply into such modern categories. This is why it is so common for men to be depicted as lovers to be as casual as any other romance. Cassell's Encyclopdia of Queer Myth is an e%cellent reading start for you, Cronus. IF you are interested in e%ploring queer theory in myth. Additional sources are Queer Euripides and Lover's Legends: The Gay Greek Myths. Using my affiliate link, you may get discounts and myself commission. This does not go on further, however, I will leave a single note regarding the homose%uality of modern interpretations of myths are not considered in this analysis. I would write more, so, so much more, but as we near 2,000 characters, I fear I may have lost you roughly 800 or so ago.
