Oh, Old Meg is lovely actually! She has these quaint little handmade cups and everything. Her home even smells of herbal medicine, it's quite nice!

Ugh, Pendlehaven Woods... I am not a fan of these woods...

This bed... The last person here had gone mad must have murdered their companion in a fit. How unsightly. Much too personal, much too messy. I understand madness clouds the mind, but surely the mad can find other means of ending lives. Ugh, just barbaric.

Aaaand the floor is not only caving in, but there are arcane symbols on the failing foundations! From my meager understandings of the arcane, it's some sort of marker. This, right here, is the centre of this altar. This derelict home is built upon some occult ritual building. (Φ) is my best approximation of the symbol. The Phi symbol between parentheses.

Ooh, a bed covered in bodily fluids! How intriguing! There is nothing more fascinating to me than what the body produces!

I love lockpicking.

Ah, a new face in Tarryford. From regalia, I believe this is a lieutenant! Must be a friend of Coronel Marwitin. Unfortunate that he meets us as we are, ahem... entering a place we do not belong in. In our defense! The building is long abandoned! It's not like we aren't allowed in.

Will people PLEASE stop offering my wife advice on how to "get her figure back?" Is childbirth not a beautiful? Why erase the proof of such a magnificent process! Do you take me as so vain as to withdraw from my wife on looks alone? I am, frankly, insulted!

As much as I should be preoccupied with what lies in store for me, what with the ichorous ooze and terminal maladies and all, but I find myself still thinking of days not too far off. I should speak of this with her, for obvious reasons, as she is the one carrying my child (and she is a well educated woman in regards to health and medical care), but I can't help it! Obviously, we will need a governess, no child of mine will grow up ignorant in this world of boundless knowledge, but what of these earlier years? As a baron, even if second generation, I'd think it would be most obvious to employ a wet nurse, but my wife was untitled before we were wed. Would it be most natural to her to tend to the little one herself, and feed with her own bosom? Or would she happily pass those responsibilities onto someone else?

MRS. HENRIETTA ARMITAGE!!! SO BRAZEN! SHE PROMISES TO SHOOT THE MAN! OOOOH THIS IS GETTING FUN! THIS IS GETTING REAAAL FUN!

And now the Williams wish to inheret the Four Feathers pub. It almost sounded like a threat, the way they spoke to her.

Mrs. Henrietta Armitage! Oh my word! I did not know you had such opinions! Fear not impropriety with me, I hope you continue to speak your mind in my company, I much so enjoy this strong honesty.

"Old Meg" ... Some would call her a wise woman, some would call a witch or a hag. She may be interesting to hear from.

So this mysterious black liquid has quite the history in Tarryford. Barbarians that once existed on these lands held rituals here before being silenced by the Roman invasions. Blood sacrifices, dressing themselves in the said blood, falling into unwaking bouts of sleep. Was this some ritual for these "Dark Ones" ...?

Oh, horrid. "The Dark Ones." Not ominous at all. Not one bit. Nor the blood sacrifies.

O, thank heavens Ms. Barrendale knows Latin.

Blasted language! I know French some, for mercantile purposes, but who in this day and age of modernity knows Latin? Clergymen? Pah! Superstitious fools!

They're taking notes, those Williams. I'm surprised they know nothing of their family history. Why come to a library? How have they no knowledge of their own property?

There is far too much madness in Tarryford...
