Ah. I started thinking to+o+ much abo+ut Tro+ll Anne Bo+nny. I can't no+t talk abo+ut her no+w. Fo+r tho+se o+f yo+u unfamiliar, which I suspect is mo+st o+f yo+u, Tro+ll Anne Bo+nny was a jadeblo+o+ded pirate at a time in Befo+ran histo+ry when piracy was much mo+re o+f a bo+ys' club than it became in later sweeps. Her gender, co+upled with her status as a jadeblo+o+d (the vast majo+rity o+f who+m were no+t allo+wed to+ even leave the bro+o+ding caverns, much less set fro+ndstub o+n the high seas), sho+uld have been a barrier fo+r entry into+ the wider wo+rld o+f piracy. But, well, pirates are no+t exactly kno+wn fo+r fo+llo+wing the rules, are they? To+ free herself fro+m the shackles o+f her so+cietally expected ro+les, Tro+ll Bo+nny disguised herself as a male tealblo+o+d instead, taking o+n the mo+niker o+f the T∞thless as she became a sco+urge o+f the eight seas. The T∞thless so+o+n began a whirlwind relatio+nship with vio+letblo+o+d Captain Calico+ Rackclam. The two+ never quite settled o+n a quadrant. They may have been red, had it no+t been fo+r the Wellread, a ceruleanblo+o+ded pirate serving under Captain Rackclam, that Tro+ll Bo+nny so+o+n disco+vered was a wo+man as well, unbekno+wnst to+ even Captain Rackclam. The two+ wo+men were fast friends and even faster lo+vers, much to+ Rackclam's dismay. Acco+unts differ abo+ut why they eventually go+t captured. So+me say Rackclam's jealo+usy and flimsy lo+yalties caused him to+ snitch. So+me say the crew o+f The Krilliam simply were no+ match fo+r the imperilo+us might o+f the -Empire. Either way, the T∞thless and the Wellread were sadly bo+th sentenced to+ lifetime jail sentences o+n charges o+f piracy, while the Captain go+t o+ff with no+t much mo+re than a slap o+n the wrist and a shiny new po+sitio+n as Privateer fo+r the ro+yal fleet. It's kind o+f a bummer o+f an ending. But I always liked to+ imagine that Tro+ll Bo+nny and her lo+ver bro+ke o+ut o+f their incarceratio+n and to+o+k back to+ the seas, where they lived the rest o+f their lives to+gether. #Piracy #Tro+llAnneBo+nny #Tro+llMaryRead #Tro+llJackRackclam #AnAbridgedHisto+ry #Tragedies #DeathMentio+n #Lo+ngPo+st

~~~~~~~~ Fascinating. The tale of the Alternian pirate Bonney, also known as The Fearless, reads similarly, except she was captured and sentenced due to an ambush on an island beach by imperial forces. She and her lover slew seventy-five attackers before becoming overwhelmed and subdued; the Captain and the rest of the crew had foolishly chosen an ill time to drink, and were thus no help. Bonney's fate is likewise shrouded in mystery, though the most prevalent theory is that she escaped execution, culled the violetblood Callico, removing his horns and coat as trophies, and went on to sail the seas until her natural death. This is mostly correct; she perished when her ship was destroyed via a maelstrom.
Fascinating indeed, tho+ugh I'm no+t surprised that the Alternian versio+n o+f her sto+ry is much mo+re vio+lent. I do+ wish o+ur Bo+nny had had an o+ppo+rtunity to+ get revenge o+n Rackclam, but if their paths ever cro+ssed again, I simply do+ no+t kno+w.
~~~~~~~~ Hm, indeed. A mystery for the ages, unless Rackclam's story is verifiably traced to a definitive ending. Of course, he could easily have survived a revenge attempt and pretended it never occurred. Or perhaps this other 'Bonny' simply decided to cut her losses, as it were, assuming she did not perish in a cell.
