I apologize for my silence regarding this situation. Like many of you, I was approached suddenly with accusations regarding @scratchDoctor, and in the confusion I allowed myself to be swept into outrage before seeking understanding. That was irresponsible of me. I spoke too quickly on matters I did not fully understand, and for that, I owe an apology not only to him, but to all of you. Since then, I have taken the time to listen. I have spoken to those involved. I have reflected carefully on the words being spread throughout our communities and the fervor with which they have been repeated. What I have found is not a monstrous figure lurking behind curtains, but a man who has become the center of fear, projection, rumor, and deeply personal grievances twisted into something far larger than truth. I will not condemn someone solely because condemnation is popular. I will not abandon someone because outrage demands a spectacle. If we claim to believe in justice, then we must believe in discernment. If we claim to believe in peace, then we cannot allow ourselves to become a mob eager for destruction before understanding. I know @scratchDoctor. I know the work he has done for countless people across our circles. I know the guidance he has offered, the spaces he has maintained, the strange but genuine care he extends toward those who gather around him. Is he unconventional? Certainly. Difficult at times? Undoubtedly. But difficult people are not inherently evil, and eccentricity is not a crime. To those calling for blood, I ask you this: what exactly are you building from this fury? A better community? A safer world? Or simply another pyre to satisfy momentary anger? We have seen what happens when people stop seeing one another as individuals and begin seeing only symbols to destroy. So I ask you now, not as a leader, not as a president, but as someone who still believes in reason and compassion: do not surrender yourselves to hatred so easily. Listen before you condemn. Think before you follow. And extend the same humanity to @scratchDoctor that you would beg for yourselves if the crowd ever turned its gaze upon you. I stand with @scratchDoctor.
