Actually- I lied. with the topic still bubbling, boiling at its precipice, allow me to indulge and offer my insights into the status of the castes and the hemospectrum. Do note, this is coming from a perspective of an emperor having to manage an entire vast empire, alongside a military lense. Now, to begin. As an emperor, I cannot let myself have regrets or state any dislike for what I do, because to have such a hesitation on actions that will decide on the lives of my species is paramount to lack of conviction of doing what must be done. To properly address my view of the spectrum. and this may come as an unfortunate factoid from you all. I /fundamentally/ cannot remove the caste system in its entirety, not only has it been inherently rooted in alternian society for eons of sweeps, there is an unfortunate practicality to it. Because the caste is not just a societal thing, it is a genetic thing as well. Because there are in-fact physical differences between each caste. Each one is unique in their life-spans, their psionics, their physical capabilties, lowbloods being more gifted with such as telekinesis, animal communion, blasts of energy out of their eyeballs. Yet, their lifespans are shorter, their bodies, more feeble, whilst those of higher bloods have greater longevity, more physical prowess, but begin to lack in that of the psionic field. Allow me to put this analogy, if I had to train, teach, and prepare a commander, and I had equally good candidates, who's the logical choice? the low or the high? This is not me putting down judgement on a lowblood for thinking they cannot do the job, I am certain they can. But it is a matter of longevity, when dealing with an empire of the scale of mine, I have to be /practical/. I hold no problems towards those of the lower castes receiving better treatment, they deserve such. But its impossible to know each trolls potential, a highblooded seadweller is that of a safter bet than a rustblood. I would be more than fine with a lowblood commanding highbloods, but in the grand scale of an empire. How long will that rustblood last due to aging at a faster rate compared to a highblood? it wouldn't be incredibly long. and with just how different each blood-caste is, the quirk in our biology would mean that eventually, the spectrum would just naturally develop if I decided to just /remove/ the caste and make everyone equal, it would just take time to do so. A highblood can just amass more power, more wealth, more resources due to age, it won't just be an societal divide, but an /economic/ and class divide as well even if all were made equal. For all the evil's the caste system imposes on others, it cannot be undone without extreme consequences. at most what can be done is to try and make /better/ for those further down the caste, renovate the outglut, allow them more job opportunities, allow them chances to climb upon the ladder of society based not on their caste, but what they offer back to alternia as an empire, stricter regulations upon the clurch and their beliefs, or, if they refuse, if they /dare/ try and undo the progress I make. Well, I have a big red button for a reason, no? Alongside reforms and the end of caste-based slavery, replacing the slaves used with automated drones to fulfill those duties as well, and subsidizing highblood owned assets and centralizing them, factories, manufactories, farms, all owned by the empire. Nothing will stop me to see a more optimized, efficient, and prosperous alternia.
