While I'm aware that this likely comes across as the 'wrong' way to do things for someone who takes their time to master a single weapon, I prefer to keep a steady rotation of different weapons. To stick to just one means that in a pinch, or if caught off guard, I might not be able to react in time. Training with multiple types allows me to be ready for nearly anything. ... In terms of everyday convenience, a knife can't be beat, however. They are not so good on a battlefield or in a fight against someone more heavily armed, but all things have their place.

Shows develop in a variety of ways. It is not dense to assume there may be changes in the 'lesson', as you put it, or to leave one's mind open to other possibilities. Plus, if the main character of a series is shown to be using a mysterious fruit to gain strange power, and the majority of the most important cast members are all people who have eaten the fruit, it is not unusual to assume that the fruit is being encouraged. It is like saying that superhero movies do not encourage people to wish for superpowers, just because their main lesson is to be responsible, or to protect the weak.
I think that claiming that someone has a "failure to understand the most basic of concepts" simply because they have only seen very few episodes of an incredibly long series is, in fact, rude. Plus, if you need time to respond with grace, simply reply slower.
