yes, but i preferred not to identify myself as such. i cannot overstate how relieved i am that very few people were able to guess which grey face in the crowd was mine.

Well, if you would like to discuss this matter less publicly, that is fine. But generally, polygamist marriages require all parties present, yes. This is assuming you did not invoke a trust marriage with an attorney acting as operable partnership.

i'm a bit beyond being able to feel shame over something like this right now, but i appreciate your discretion. i think i'm going to need to gather some more information about my own circumstances before i can figure out how to proceed.

Was there a judge involved, or was this merely a spiritual marriage? Assuming there was a judge, then you would likely be able to sue that judge for operating a contract under duress and dissolving the marriage amicably. If there wasn't, then you only need to spiritually forgive yourself and not acknowledge the marriage. Ordained or not.

there was a human priest there, but he was definitely under more duress than anyone else. i'll ask about the judge thing.

Then this sounds like a spiritual marriage alone. I would not be too worried over it. Without a signed contract, this was even less scrupulous than the famed Vegas Marriages.
