i havE a distinct fondnEss for thE Early days, basically just shitty urban lEgEnds typE onEs. thE onEs that sprEad likE wildfirE using thE intErnEt as thE EquivalEnt to tElling ghost storiEs around thE campfirE. arE thosE storiEs EvEr any good? ... admittEdly, no, not usually. but thErE's a sEnsE of community in thEir origins.
Of course, there always is. I have been a proud SCP Editor myself for quite some time as well. I just sometimes fail to grasp how these 'icons' could really enrapture such masses. Jeff the Killer was drawn as an 'anime scene boy' and I knew it was over then.

The headline is unchanged, but the printing block was never made. "Local man discovers something that knows him as well." The Editor-in-Chief notes that no article exists in the editorial queue. An internal investigation regarding this printing mistake has gone under way. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [PROOF SHEET - MARKED UP] The layout team has circled the following inconsistencies with the article. 1. The column widths are misaligned. Human error, not machine. 2. Kerning irregularities form repeating shapes. 3. When overlaid, the shapes do not align consistently between copies. 4. There is an object or person in the background of the stock image that does not exist in the sample database. 5. The title is rather consistent. "Local man discovers something we all know too well." It's still happening. The replacement pages now contain fragments of the same headline. You wanna yell at someone, yell at the distributor company. I'm sick of this." Shortly after this conversation, the Editor-in-Chief was replaced. UPDATED DESCRIPTION: There appears to be an odd figure in the reflection of the glass. The figure is holding our newspaper. The issue is #442. The headline is visible. It is the same. In some copies, the figure appears to be smiling. In others, the face is indistinct or absent entirely. Few other details are available to be seen even with the jeweler's loupe. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [EDITORIAL ADDENDUM - HANDWRITTEN] The now-columnist has issued a hastily scrawled memo to the rest of his department. He writes the following. "I have begun to suspect that this isn't an article about a man. It is a structure that warps its way around the reader. It appears to correct for disbelief, just plausible enough to seep into your subconscious. Stop investigating, stop reading. We have already doomed ourselves by focusing on it this long." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [FINAL ISSUE - NEVER PUBLISHED] "We regret to inform our readers that an error has occurred in our recent publications. Disturbing, and potentially graphic content may appear inconsistently across issues. If you encounter such an article that seems familiar, but on a second read, you cannot read it again, searching for it has not produced favorable results. Continued attempts to reconcile discrepancies may result in further appearances of the material." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Marginalia] Scrawled on nearly every page of the editor's notebook, a compendium of historical events this particular editor had previously assisted with, are words. They come in many languages, but they translate roughly to 'Stop the presses' in all tongues. As you flip through the book, as though it were meant to be animated, there is the face of a man in the blank spaces without letters or symbols. He simply blinks back at you, knowing smirk. Each flip through is different. Sometimes he grows tired, or looks away. Sometimes he seems to speak. Occasionally, the sequence resolves into something resembling a message, though no two viewers have agreed on its content. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [A Warning to those who have read this documentation] If any portion of this documentation felt familiar, no further clarification will be provided. I was always more of a fan of Codenames or more advanced board games in general. But it still must be damning.

I have the opportunity to visit the library today. I am most excited as being in my current dingy office building is bland. James, the accountant, has yet again left a box of chocolates on my desk. I have yet again poured the same amount of sugar into his gas tank.
