[A minute long video is posted. FEED: COCKPIT-12 // CAM-ALPHA // “FURTHEST RING” SIGNAL: 4.13% | AUDIO: STATIC/INTERMITTENT | RESOLUTION: LOW The feed stutters to life, painted in grainy, low-light green and bluish hues, an odd gray overlay rendering most of it blurry. It’s security footage from an unidentifiable spaceship that sustains remarkable damage. The camera is mounted high somewhere in the cockpit at a 45-degree angle, spiderwebs showing that the lens has been cracked. It shows a formerly spacious Captain’s chair, the rest of the room now a twisted metal tomb. The overhead mag-rails have snapped, sending rows of containers into a chaotic drift. Most light bulbs have ruptured, the rest flickering in an eerie display of failed emergency protocols being triggered by what can only be guessed was a brutal attack. Alarms no longer wail, the loud silence of the Furthest Ring crushing their sound. Instead, a deep, groaning thrum vibrates through the deck, punctuated by the sharp ping of failing hull integrity. Emergency lights flash a sluggish red, casting long, rust-colored shadows that shift as the ship’s damaged exterior reflects on this particular room. Suddenly, the edge of the frame shudders as a grey, scarred hand grabs for the camera, a pained groan filtering through the noise of whatever lives in outer space as it’s twisted to reveal the sole occupant. Meenah. The feed glitches, her silhouette blurry and distorted as the lens struggles to capture her image clearly. Glowing eyes greet the viewer, an odd silvery smoke surrounding her temples. It’s hard to narrow it down, but something is… wrong. Blood is dripping down her ashen face, white streaking through her curls, as if their pigment had been siphoned away. However, the most worrisome portion isn’t her exhaustion… It’s the multiple eyes blinking at the camera, spread throughout her limbs, ivory tentacles sweeping through the feed slowly. When it happens, the feed glitches, pixelating into jagged blocks of colour before resuming.
