The perfect video game I would make is just a 7th gen linear FPS. We'll say it has RPG mechanics and 100s of different play styles but it's just a perk tree, and there's actually no real insensitive to switch from the primary and secondary you like most. There's a hacking AND lockpicking mini game. every cutscene lets you respond with the good guy dialogue, the bad guy dialogue, or total silence. There's an achievement for being a purists for each of those three options but the difference between the story of each run is a total of 30 different lines of dialogue. There's like 20 collectables that play flashbacks of your dead wife and if you get them all in a run you get the good ending. A clever player who collects them all might be able to sus out the 3rd act twist before it happens and the collectables are all in fun challenging locations so you actually want to get them. The TRUE ending is locked behind the hardest difficulty that's not fun to play just really hard plus collecting all 300 journal entries, all of which are just random lore and world building that are super cool but have nothing to do with the plot. The true ending is just the good ending but there's 20 more seconds of footage before the credits where the protagonist hints to the sequel. Level 7 is a stealth mission where you have to perfect stealth it, detection is a game over, no checkpoints, and the stealth mechanics are not fucking good.
