If someone thinks you're annoying just for asking how they're doing, that's a them problem tbh. Unless they told you they don't wanna talk about it, you're not doing anything wrong. Sure, there's a chance they might be annoyed, but that doesn't mean you did something wrong. They might just be in a bad mood or something and it has nothing to do with you. Shit's complicated. I think it's better to reach out if you're worried, 'cause at least you tried.
