💭Researching social behavior of extraterrestrials ┆ she/they, amateur engineer, xenobiologist, and alien enthusiast ✰ nice to meet you!
✰┆Hello all! I have another question. I recently saw a good few Chittr users posting about sleeping and what clothes they wear while doing so. I have to wonder, how do you all sleep, and where?
✰┆You can sleep in orbit?? How long can you go without oxygen???? D^:
✰┆I guess that means you can’t be hurt by sleeping in water, but still- is it comfortable to be wet on your body???
--E√ It is a device that trolls sleep in. Humans tend to use snuggleplanes and comfort rectangles instead.
✰┆Alright, I think I have made up my mind for what to ask today. Whenever I read the Chittr feed, I see all of these unconventional characters and words and symbols used. Sometimes there is a button with what I know to be an eyeball one that removes some of it and puts the text in a more conventional and readable format. I wonder why it is that many of this site’s users input their text with all of these flourishes? I also wonder if for some there is an unconventional method to inputting the text, since for some users who have yellow text, it appears they are clearly making inputs from reading their posts. Sorry if this a very long post. Please answer my question, Chittr!
It's m6stly a tr6ll thing, I believe. Alth6ugh us leprechauns als6 use them. They're called "typing quirks," and they're pretty much exactly what it says 6n the tin. A quirk in the way we type! I pers6nally use sixes instead 6f Os. I'm n6t really sure where it started, th6ugh, 6r why s6me tr6lls have such difficult-t6-read 6nes. Thankfully, this website has typing quirks built in, and p6sts can be "de-quirked" if y6u have tr6uble understanding them, by pressing that little eyeball butt6n. I'm n6t sure what the situati6n is with the g6ldbl66ds, th6ugh. S6me s6rt 6f psi6nic thing, perhaps?
✰┆I see! So it is mostly cosmetic or some sort of self-expression? Some trolls must be very passionate about expressing themselves then. :^O Also, psionic?
It's a little bit 6f b6th, I think. But psi6nics are... s6mething n6t even I understand, really. S6me g6ldbl66ds have psychic abilities 6f s6me s6rt, called psi6nics. They seem t6 be electric in nature, I think? And they can be h66ked up t6 machines and c6mminicate thr6ugh them. It's all terribly c6mplicated.
✰┆How interesting!! :^D I suppose I also have some psychic abilities but it seems that the psionics you describe are quite different. I think I ought to ask one of these ‘goldblood’ trolls directly about it. Though, if they are able to be directly connected to machinery in such a way, maybe that would explain the outwardly visible commands and such. Surely they must be able to interface with it normally as well, though? They cannot be attached to those machines forever, after all.
Y6u w6uld assume they w6uld, but I've heard s6me st6ries. Tr6lls can be scary.
✰┆Hello all, again! I do want to ask another question but I believe I ought to observe a little more so as to know what would be best to ask. I do hope you all are doing well though. :^]
✰┆Okay, here goes my first open question: How does the apparently numerous romances work?
Yeah and I've spent a few months trying to grasp troll culture to not make an ass of myself. The person wanted an explanation and I gave it.
it s okay we all starwt somewherwe some of us much furwtherw and lowerw than otherws but it isn t too bad it is mostly worwking yourw way up it is all incrwemental and strwaight forwwarwds i couldn t rweally give much advice on that frwont you would need to seek someone else who had to actually trwy because i was just top tierw frwom hatch and it is a gap in knowledge i can not compensate forw but that is just the way the cocoon crwumbles
✰┆So it is somewhat alike to the buttons you can use to interact with posts, but it is a relationship with a person instead of the feeling you have toward a post?
✰┆What does this mean? If there is a better way to explain this romance system, please do share!
i mean that is just the brwoad strwokes it lacks a lot of the detail and rweasoning and passion that descrwibes why the rwelationships arwe the way they arwe and most imporwtantly theirw benefit see with a lot of the human rwelationships all they have arwe like sappy surwface level flings and it rweally is just forw self grwatification that just so happens to sometimes be mutually sharwed but trwoll rwomance is much morwe in depth and interwesting and above all else matterws way morwe than whateverw the hell feelings humans have
✰┆Well, I see what you are saying. I am glad you can share something meaningful like that with someone else :^>
✰┆After being on this app for about a day now, I have learned quite a bit! It is mostly just that I need to know more, to be honest. Would you all be interested in open questions from me, or should I post alike to how you all tend to?
D6n't w6rry, I have als6 been quite bewildered by this website and tr6lls as a species. Did y6u kn6w they 6nly have f6ur types 6f r6mance? And they d6n't even 6verlap? It's all quite c6nfusing. I w6uld be interested in m6re 6pen questi6ns, th6ugh. I'm sure I c6uld inf6rm y6u ab6ut s6me 6f the less well-kn6wn species ar6und here.
✰┆Ooh :^O Quite confusing indeed! I am also puzzled by your saying “more than four”, what do you mean by that? How much romance is there?? At least I have some idea for what to ask first, as far as my questions go. :^>
Oh my g66dness I am pr6bably the least qualified leprechaun t6 ever try and explain this. Apparently, tr6lls (and carapacians, p6ssibly?) have f6ur types 6f r6mance, called quadrants, which are represented by <3, <3<, <>, and c3<. And y6u can 6nly be in 6ne type 6f r6mance with s6me6ne at a time, apparently? Alth6ugh switching between them is a thing, t66. Which makes me w6nder why they d6n't let quadrants 6verlap? Anyh6w! Charms! My species' system 6f r6mance. There are nine charms: hearts (🩷), m66ns (🌙), stars (⭐), cl6vers (🍀), diam6nds (🔷), h6rsesh6es (there's n6 h6rsesh6es em6ji, but m6st pe6ple use 🧲), ball66ns (🎈), rainb6ws (🌈), and p6ts 6f g6ld (6nce again, n6 em6ji, and I can't remember which pe6ple use, but I'll use 💰). And unlike quadrants, they can 6verlap. In fact, this is the n6rm! One charm is a casual relati6nship, tw6 charms is a c6mmited relati6nship, and three 6r m6re charms is called a tr6ve, and is c6nsidered the "end g6al" 6f m6st relati6nships. I've... never actually been in any charms t6 any meaningful extent, th6ugh, s6 the exact definiti6ns 6f them all escape me. It's terribly c6nv6luted, particularly t6 s6me6ne c6mpletely unfamiliar with alien r6mance stystems like y6u, I kn6w. But I h6pe I was able t6 answer s6me 6f y6ur questi6ns.
✰┆I suppose this is what you meant in your reply to my earlier post! Between this and the other four romances the others are talking about, I have much to learn :,^> Thank you for this, though!
Y6u're welc6me! D6n't w6rry, I'm in the same b6at as y6u when it c6mes t6 tr6ll and carapacian r6mance 🥲 We 6nly have 6ne carapacian in 6ur gr6up, and I d6ubt I c6uld get a single w6rd 6ut 6f her ab6ut her l6ve life. But fr6m what I've seen, the <3< 6ne can get... scary... Like h6rsesh6es teasing, but w6rse. And Itchy already makes my life hell by trying t6 h6rsesh6es flirt with me...
D6n't w6rry. This has been my life f6r... um... a while n6w. It's hard t6 c6unt with all the time travel. At least I can leave the timeline when Itchy gets particularly 6n my nerves.
✰┆Hello? It is customary to make an introductory post as well as a description of yourself, is it not? I am Lilly Mint, and I am a current student at the Zarnian Astronautics Academy. I was recommended this website as a place to view the behaviors of various other social species, and I intend to do that here. I suppose I just wish I could know what all of these buttons do!
Hearts = agreement or otherwise "good post" Diamonds = sympathy or pity Spades = "fuck you OP" (sexual intent optional but sometimes present) Clubs = "bad post OP" Combinations of hearts+diamonds or spades+clubs are usually used to imply "hearts/spades but it got a stronger or more visceral reaction out of me"
Ok★y rundown. Fight night is every other wipe on Thursd★ys. No we don't know why Cronus is like th★t. Yes the clown religion is re★l. No seriously, we don't know why Cronus is like th★t.
✰┆??? I do not know what any of that is! Who is Cronus and what is clown religion??
Cronus is the n★me of sever★l of the users on this site. Clown religion is ★ religion of clowns. Idk, it's just ★ re★l religion.
✰┆I suppose I can understand that? Thank you. But what exactly are these ‘Cronus’ like that warrants you to tell me of them ahead of time?
