No book for today. I’m tired and lazy and busy. Today’s review will be for my bed. It’s quite large, with good linens and a quality mattress. But it’s missing something. As in it’s missing my girlfriend. I’m counting the days until she returns. Fuck I’m so sappy. Ugh. Whatever.
The book for today is "The Emperor of Ice-Cream" by Brian Moore. It's short, a bit funny, and overwhelmingly tragic. I'd recommend anyone with a few hours on hand to give it a read. I honestly don't want to say much else about it, since I feel the more I say the more I'd ruin the book for others. It's rather old, so I'm sure you can find a PDF of it online somewhere. #book #bookreview #isitwrongforabritishmantoenjoyabookthattakesplaceindublin
I lied about lounging around. I spent all day fencing. Oops. Not my fault the thrill of the duel is so alluring. Time for a bath, perhaps a bubble one? Feels rather fuckin childish but hey, all work and no play makes Alabaster a dull boy.
No book review today. Sunday is a day of rest, I've heard. Going to spend my day drinking tea and lounging around.
(• - •) There's a lot of people asking to be fixed. I hope all of you get well soon. I'm sorry you're suffering. ⚘
Christ. I forgot to post about a book today. Read a book. Any book. Read words either on paper or an e-ink display. Your phone doesn’t count. Palmhusk or desktop or husktop or whatever the fucktop doesn’t count either. This is your daily PSA to engage in literature, fine or otherwise. Thank you. #books #reading #pickupafuckingnovelandengagewithit
Saw something I desperately wished to rechitt, but could not for the sake of common decency. Never until now have I had to fight so hard to not click a single button.
Fancying a tea right about now. Maybe a walk in a garden. It's rather cold out but the call of nature remains alluring.
...I miss her. She isn't dead, just working.
No book review for today, I’ve been so busy there simply aren’t enough hours in the day to finish anything. Instead, I will promote a simple appreciation for the art of fencing. #nobookstoday #fencing #iloathework
Reading House of Leaves is what I imagine getting metaphorically skullfucked by psionics has to feel like. I've never written down so many annotations trying to make sense of it all. Excellent read though, makes me wish my residence was as bloody interesting as theirs. Can't say I feel the same jealousy towards the life of Johnny Truant, though. Good fucking luck to that guy. #books #isitashameienjoywritingthesefrivolouslylonghashtags
Anyone have any good book recommendations, actually? I prefer fantasy or historical fiction, but I'll read about anything.
Rather busy today, but I figured I should at least try to keep the habit of bookposting continue. Only issue is I haven't read anything new. Can't exactly finish a book a day. Well, I could, but I'd have to neglect everything else and that wouldn't bloody work out for me would it. Instead, I do recall a while ago I dabbled in a bit of gaming and beat Final Fantasy XV, and what is a game but an interactive book? I think the main character is a marvelous representation of what a King should be, and found myself quite touched by the ending. I'd recommend giving it a play if you have about... 36 hours on hand. #book #actuallynothisisafuckingvideogamenotabookbutitstoolatenow
Been reading a particularly intriguing novel as of late. Storm Front by Jim Butcher. It's about a Chicago-based Wizard who solves crime. Not that the writing is anything to mail home about, nor are the characters, but I do find the magic system within to be quite interesting. Modern day settings aren't really my cup of tea, but I see no issue in trying something new from time to time. Am I supposed to give this a hashtag or something? I don't bloody know. #book #books #reading #ihavefuckingeyesandcanperceivewordsonapagebecauseimnotanilliterategit
Not particularly sure why I decided to make an account for this site but fuck it, why not. Could be good fun or a ceaseless fucking headache. Guess we'll see.
