A megalomaniacal madman by the name of Lady English has torched the islands of Manhattan for the better half year. Anarchy over took the City, along with a cute few eldritch abominations and the like. That was, until the clocks stopped. Perhaps it was fated. Perhaps just dumb luck, but when the monsters had just about snuffed out the last hope of carapasian society, the Earth just stopped turning. Heat, electricity, water. They just keep on running, but the clocks? They don't move unless the sun comes up, which wouldn't be too much of a problem if it weren't for the Goddamn solar system spinning five times as slow, when the island of New York is not bathed in light. Spades is mobster, turned rogue hero, about claim the ultimate price of wiping that smug grin off Lady English's face, when it just all went to shit.
