it's a thing where people take characters they like and make up stories for them. usually while trying to portray the characters acting at least somewhat like they behave in that story. think like, a play, where instead of doing the thing they normally would, they do something else, but are still them.

What a8out regular glasses stops working when you're missing an eye? You don't even need to punch a lens out. They still work.
