I haven't been able to be on as much as I'm adjusting to traveling for my job but it can't be helped. ⦠Anyway I thought since I did have a moment to check in here I'd circle back to a point I made earlier which I wasn't sure I really gave the weight it needed. ⦠ā Though I know it's controversial of a topic but the plight of transhemoists is real and shouldn't just be brushed off. ā To start with not many people know about them, either because they're subject to ridicule when they try to share their hardships. ⣠It's hard to find empathy in general in alternian culture.⣠Blood color is the one thing we can't forget. It's what defines us and our role in society. Is it any wonder that a troll would look at another caste and see who they were meant to be? Highbloods have so many responsibilities that are impossible to escape and are reminders of being in the wrong place, making them surely wear heavier. And being off world now it only seems to get more important as it defines ones role in the empire.⦠Highbloods sense of community isn't the most close knit unlike many lowbloods outside of the general comradery in the idea of being superior.⦠And admitting such a deviant idea would instantly get them ostracized from any peers they manage a connection with. It's quite difficult to find anything outside of highbloods too. ⣠Even as someone who did my best to integrate and appreciate the many differences of lowbloods culture the fact one is a highblood is impossible to ignore, from how one would be treated and othered. ⣠To expose that to that sort of group and to admit vulnerability? It would be such a risk. Then to be a lowblood who does not feel aligned with their blood color, just another risk in the long list of risks below. ⦠And to try and find solace in another, only to be met with the mocking idea that sure every lowblood would wish they were higher. ⦠Facing that this runs so much deeper. Something like an entire religion being caste relevant, though higher could dabble the risk for a lowblood would be massive. I'm sure for the sake of having empathy for such a struggle some might accuse me of personal interest, but while I've been uncomfortable with aspects of my status I have no such deep discomfort with the color of my blood. ⦠But I think a fringe issue should be brought to light for people to consider and hopefully accept.ā¦
ā I'm not really interested on being on here much more tonight ā But glancing around I guess I should also say ⦠It's important to give lowbloods some grace when they're still lose in the hemospectrum. There's a lot keeping them from proper education ⦠#vagueposting
