((For me, I find it easier to connect with canon characters, cause I like identifying with a pre-existing character. I do have one OC on here, a fan carapace, but I'm even a little nervous with him because he's not as developed, if that makes sense?

((The appeal varies drastically between characters, to be honest. I just really like having some established basis to build character off of. For Davepeta, the fantasy of being perfectly recognized and fully self confident as nb is a major appeal, for example. I think everyone wants to stand out in their own way. Nobody goes through the effort of making a profile to be "just another jade/dave/terezi/etc". To me, canon characters provide both a feeling I can be "good at" rping a character and a way to stand out because I love underappreciated side characters sm. By contrast, if I were to present an OC I would be a bit stressed about them gaining traction. If people are more focused on the Canons, do fancharacters fall by the wayside? Moreover, I don't have a ton of time to post on here during the workweek. Will my OC feel as relevant if they only make two or three posts a day? As for revealing things through simple posts on chittr, well, everyone's got a slightly different reading of a character! So the things a canon of mine would say might seem totally off to another person's. There's still revealing to do! Especially since nobody knows anybody's personal canon on this site.

(( I specifically picked Eggs cause he's just obscure enough and has zero canon dialogue, so I can really do whatever I want with him and have a very low chance of having a duplicate, while still maintaining the in-group of The Felt and the enemy group of The Midnight Crew, etc. (( Fun to have established relationships and a character I have nearly free reign with, with just enough canon lore that I have something to touch base with that ought to be common knowledge to anyone who has bothered to pay attention to the intermission LOL

not exactly what you've asked but i think this is just a way for me to shitpost because me and my trollsona's interests may be really different as well as our views on life and i can just fuck around cause like cmon we all know 2011x being on chittr is NOT serious (and I can't shitpost much on main because it ruins the mood and i can't even delete the posts later)
