I don't think the hair is making a difference here, it's the glasses, hairstyle, and outfit. The colour of the hair is changing literally nobody's opinions. #lockanime

I wonder why the parents are so good at reading their daughter's expressions and telling her mood... Despite the fact that they abandoned her alone in a decrepit mansion with a single elderly maid for many months. Yet they're suddenly perfect parents now... Well, I suppose its anime. It doesn't have to make that much sense. Personally, if I had been abandoned by my lusus for several months when young and somewhat defenseless and left with some random other lusus who didn't even care about me enough to stick out those months, and then they came back... I would not exactly be happy. #lockanime

Hmm. I think the person who is obviously most suspicious is a red herring, and its actually the recent "friend" type character who is in fact causing the mysterious incidents in class. It just feels like something like that. #lockanime

They always try to check if someone else is a reincarnator by mentioning the title of the game, but why would they all know the game they've been reincarnated into? Wouldn't you just ask about something slightly anachronistic? Ask what the time is and see if they check for a watch or a palmhusk, as a start. If that's inconclusive, offhandedly mention something whatever setting you're in doesn't have. A mode of transport or something. Scuttlebuggies, trains, airplanes, whatever works. See if they seem to recognise it. Why assume they've played the game? #lockanime

At some point there will be one of these animes with more reincarnated characters than "NPCs". #lockanime

Hmmm... I find it interesting that in these shows, the "genius at magic" main characters are so often able to instantly teach someone else how to use magic. In my experience, it is the individuals who are geniuses at their subject that are actually the worst at teaching, because it comes to them so naturally that they struggle to teach others who don't find it so easy. #lockanime

It seems a bit odd that you can only apply to the class to learn magic if you already know how to use it. That seems a bit strange. Isn't the whole point of going to school to learn? #lockanime

I think that perhaps buying a doll that looks like your mother and using it to create a sentient individual to help you around the household and then being surprised when she acts like your mother is a little bit... You. Gave her consciousness? While thinking of your mother? Why are you shocked? #lockanime

You would think that I'm watching this as a maid dress enjoyer, but its more just because its available and not too bad. I enjoy the whole "overpowered character who prefers to just do Normal Things" trope. Obviously I also appreciate the maid outfit. I like that they make it clear that maids have different outfits for different roles. Their cleaning work and service work outfits are different, after all. Of course they aren't going to wear the same thing for greeting guests as they were wearing in the morning when they were scrubbing the floor. #lockanime

It is funny to see etiquette listed as an equally important class to applied magic. It is also funny that neither of those are mandatory. #lockanime

The young lady refused to allow the maid (main character) to cast a spell on her which allows her to sense hostility aimed in her direction, because the first time she had that spell cast upon her it made her paranoid. This is a sensible decision in some regards, but... Be a little paranoid, young lady, this is a school full of nobles, notably the worst type of spoiled brats and often the quickest to cause pain to others because they know they will suffer smaller consequences. A fine just means it isn't illegal for the rich. #lockanime

One of these voice actors has a very interesting voice. Sort of... Feminine, but low and breathy? As if she's whispering, but loudly. Its an interesting choice and I like that casting for a very gentle character. More voice diversity in voice acting is always appreciated. #lockanime

That being said, even in a world where, by some divine providence, hair dye genuinely had not been invented... I can understand going from silver to black to hide your hair, yes. But silver to blonde? Blonde? A very close colour to silver? Which you could achieve even without dyes using pigments from flowers? Blonde. Come, now. #lockanime

I think the funniest part of this one is that they try to pull a "Clark Kent couldn't possibly be Superman, look, he's wearing glasses." type of scenario here as well. The main character is being searched for, but all the people searching know is that she has silver hair and indigo eyes. So she just changes her hair and eye colour with magic, and apparently hair dye hasn't been invented in this world, so this works. Which is hilarious. "Hair dye hasn't been invented in this world"... Oh of course the school (because obviously there's a nobles school, that's always the setting of these things) is right next to the palace. Which is definitely not a security risk or concern. Wrigglers can definitely be trusted next to the most "important" (hah.) building in the city. Of course. This is sarcasm. #lockanime

Oh... Interesting. The old lady (Younger sibling of one of the reincarnated people) died of old age and was also reincarnated into the same game, as the age she was when she was the younger sibling of the others at the same time as the others have hit the age they were at their death. So... I assume she's going to end up the younger sibling role again even though she lived her full life. Hm. I hope they do something interesting with that and don't just have her forget being an adult. She had a grandchild... #lockanime

Apparently the things that the reincarnated people have been doing have spawned a different version of the otome game based on their version of events. That's actually somewhat fascinating. So rather than the interaction going one way (Real world -> otome game) it seems to have gone both ways. #lockanime

... We open up episode 8 to a scene in a hospital with an old woman dying. Also the most important event in this old woman's life is the fact that her brother and brother's best friend died in a plane crash while on their way to a PR tour related to an otome game. Which they then got reincarnated into, but the old woman does not know this. The fun part is that this is not even particularly odd for this genre. Its always about an otome game. #lockanime

I feel as if getting a blessing from this nun would actively drag me closer to this anime universe's equivalent of hell. Not even in a #suggestive way she just sucks badly. #lockanime

She is explaining to the child she just traumatised by killing a whole group of bandits how road maintenance works. I feel like this show is going to annoy me. Oh well. Its good for your health to be harmlessly annoyed now and then. #lockanime

Don't get me wrong, I have very little issue with the concept of killing in self defense, but at least make sure you know what you're doing. If you're going to kill a person, kill a person. Don't pretend you're not. #lockanime

... "No incantation...? She's a high level wizard! Surround her, don't let her use her magic!" What... If she's using magic with no cast time, what use is surrounding her? And why is she drawing a sword? She has magic with no cooldown or cast time. No incantation. Why do bandits never think to run...? #lockanime

... A little odd. She's a woman working hard to find her way in the world, yet... She acts like the only people with power except from her are men. Mm.... Maybe I'm looking too deeply into it. I just find it to be a concerning pattern with this genre. Its supposed to be a "womens power fantasy", but... Only the main woman ever gets to be powerful. Hell, sometimes she isn't, she just finds powerful people to surround herself with. This one is the former, not the latter. #lockanime

Also, if she's so determined to do everything herself, she's doing a terrible job of it. Rather than obscuring her actions, she is actively lying. An obscured action could be a mistake, or "shyness". An active lie, if caught... Ah, well. She isn't going to get caught. This is a "revenge" anime. She's going to keep winning. That's the whole point of this genre of power fantasy. #lockanime

Hmm... She does seem somewhat intelligent. But she's falling into a pit trap of logic; If everyone is out to get me, I must do everything myself. I've been there. Still sometimes am. That sort of thing burns out out badly. #lockanime

Thus far, this is very predictable. That being said... They did make sure to make her crashout incredibly understandable. In her position, I would also want to raze the royal family to the ground through a carefully planned long-term revenge. #lockanime

... Oh, wow. This opens nearly identically to at least two other of the same subgenre that I've seen. Twice is coincidence (or a lone rip-off), three is a pattern. Sigh. I'll keep watching, though. #lockanime

Another one of those "getting revenge on my asshole prince fiancé who broke up with me at a party for a girl with pink, blonde or black hair, and also probably having a romance with the prince of a different kingdom" anime. Yeah, feels about right. It isn't an isekai this time, unless the pink-haired homewrecker is someone who got isekai'd... Mm. I don't think so this time. #lockanime

Its fun for the manipulator to try and leverage someone's pitch feelings to make them fight their rival in a way that aligns with the manipulator's plans.... Only for them to snap back with the polite equivalent of "You don't know them like I do" and refuse to play into their hands, all without even knowing they're being manipulated, purely because they're having fun as they are. Aiming for the top makes you greedy, which makes you manipulable. Not aiming for the top makes you complacent, which makes you manipulable. Truly, there is no good option other than to choose your people wisely. Its an interesting message. #lockanime

Its fun to see characters who have a complex relationship with someone. Both fear and adoration, at the same time. I enjoy when that sort of thing is written well. #lockanime

I do love the episodes where Iruma gets closer to the classmates he doesn't usually get to spend as much time with. It is rare that such a large ensemble cast actually feels fleshed out. #lockanime

They are always just picking him up. He can't go 10 minutes without being manhandled. I know some people who would enjoy this treatment. He is like a little purse dog, in a way... #lockanime

Very much enjoying the outfit on the left here. Both are cute, but I'm much more drawn to the darker colours. Mixed metals for the choker, cuffs and necklace are also rather fun. Matching hair extensions too... Its great design. I would enjoy something like that. Do not reply to this post telling me I could wear this. I cannot, due to reasons, and I am not seeking solutions for that. I'm just enjoying looking and imagining. #lockanime

What they do not tell you about the anime Shangri-La Frontier is that the most attractive character is the leader of the bunny rabbit mafia. I am not a furry but would be willing to convert. #lockanime

Actually, it may just be a mood I'm in. This outfit is also giving me mild gender envy. Usually I don't wear skirts, but... Mm. Maybe something a bit more structured might... Oh, I don't know. I just think this is a cute outfit. #lockanime

I do think that if I had watched this show when I was 6 or so sweeps old I would present a lot more femininely than I do... I'm not sure why, but Lied is giving me minor gender envy. Perhaps I will paint my claws. Not like anyone can see them under the gloves, after all. #lockanime

I do enjoy that one of the other important elements of the show is the idea that everyone has strength in their own forms. It is key to the theming of the show that it isn't just one thing. There's fighting arcs, academic arcs, the things you'd expect from a show about demons... The idol arcs say hey. Being the strongest or smartest aren't the only important things in the world. People shine in all sorts of different ways. Its fascinating. #lockanime

Honestly, it's such a good depiction of a kismesistude in human media. I know a lot of people don't enjoy when humans use troll relationship terms, but... They "stumble upon" kismesistude in media so often that it's clear they have the means in their hearts, just not the wording. #lockanime
