Hello, Chittr. I just wanted to share with you one of my favorite astronomy-related images! This is an image of a protostar within the Taurus star-forming region, around 525 light years from Earth! It was taken by the James Webb Space Telescope and released to the public in 2025. This protostar, known as IRAS 04302+2247 or the "Butterfly Star" due to the wing-like shape of the nebulae at either side, features what is known as a protoplanetary disc, characterised by the dark segment of dust and gass running through the center of the star from this edge-on angle! Today's fact from me is about trains and locomotives. I am unsure where the topic came from but it is certainly the topic I plan to discuss today. Despite electric vehicles only becoming mainstream within the 21st century, did you know that the first electrically powered locomotive was created in 1837 by a human man named Robert Davidson. This locomotive could only reach a maximum speed of four miles per hour (6 km/h)! The first electrically powered *train*, however, was created in 1879 by Ernst Werner Siemens. This vehicle would go on to become Earth's first electric trams. :)

My gods how the night treated me well. I dare not offer any details of my venture. Just know I have enjoyed myself thoroughly these past couple of days at this event.
I do not know why we are all digging holes, but I cannot say it is not an interesting topic. On the topic, did you know that the deepest hole ever dug on Earth was 12,262 metres (40,230 ft) deep? That is not even halfway through the Earth's continental crust at its thickest. This hole, known as the Kola Superdeep Borehole was a scientific effort made to study the Earth's crust in terms of chemical and mineral composition, as well as several other previously understudied aspects.

I have neglected to offer a fact of the day recently. I do not think I will overcompensate with multiple. I will merely just post when I remember to. Today's fact pertains to humans! Did you know that humans are incapable of sensing wetness directly? Humans do not have hygroreceptors within their skin like other creatures do and therefore cannot directly sense skin wetness. Instead, they rely on a mixture of temperature and texture to identify wetness! This is why there are times an object may feel wet when it is merely just cold. Or warm, in some cases!

I believe it is about time I state another fact about space. If you have any topics you would like me to offer information for, do let me know! Nebulae. Giant clouds of gas, cosmic dust and a vast number of other material components. Did you know there are four different major types? For now, I shall focus on Diffuse Nebulae. A majority of discovered nebulae fall under this type. These can be further separated into three subtypes, based on their visibility: Emission Nebulae glow and provide their own light; Reflection Nebulae are illuminated through the reflection of nearby stars and finally Dark Nebulae absorb or block visible wavelengths of light! One of the most famous examples of Diffuse Nebula on Earth is NGC 2174 or, colloquially, the Monkey Head Nebula. This example is found approximately 6,400 light-years away from Earth!

Hello Chittr. I come to you bearing a fact about space. Have you ever heard of the existance of Magnetars? They are a proposed type of neutron star with a magnetic field so strong, they would kill you by stripping you of your electrons. This magnetic field can be anywhere from ~10^9 to 10^15 Gs strong! This is still primarily hypothesis, but it is one that is highly agreed upon as of recent years.
