Well, for example, I would rather deal with my house burning down than have to deal with my office catching fire. It seems like a minute difference but it would make all the difference to me.
I have more valuable items in my office, and I trust my sister would be able to evacuate the house on her own. Sure, we would mourn the loss of our belongings, particularly her epic DJing equipment, but at least I would get to keep the extant copies of my work.
