Hello, Chittr. Particularly those who like to attend #RosesPoolsideDriveIn. I have to admit I didn't spend too much time thinking about this lately, so this week's selection might end up feeling a bit flat or rushed. However, I still think it is quite apropos given the season. Tomorrow night's film will be Trick ’r Treat, directed by Michael Dougherty and released in 2007. Set on Halloween night in a small Ohio town, the film weaves together several intersecting stories involving masked children, urban legends, questionable neighbors, and the sort of people who seem determined to make every holiday gat...Read more

Did you think that just because I'm on vacation I won't be able to host #RosesPoolsideDriveIn? Ha. In a space where everything and anything is possible, I can be in two places at the same time. I can be riding a rollercoaster WHILE we watch a horror movie, all cozied up by the bonfire. That being said, tomorrow night's film is a request extended to me by a very special person: A Nightmare on Elm Street, directed by Wes Craven and released in 1984. The premise is an admirably unpleasant one: a group of teenagers begin having nightmares about a disfigured man in a striped sweater who seems to have dev...Read more

Good evening, horror fans. This Tuesday night's feature film for #RosesPoolsideDriveIn is [REC], directed by Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza, and released in 2007. The premise is deceptively simple: a television reporter and her cameraman accompany a group of firefighters on a routine call to an apartment building in Barcelona. What begins as an ordinary piece of local reporting rapidly becomes something rather more complicated, and the occupants discover that leaving the building is no longer quite as straightforward as they might have hoped. [REC] is a found-footage horror film, but its real str...Read more

Well, everybody. It is that time of the week once again. The doors to my back yard are open. Temperature is starting to go down, but the pool has temperature control. Drinks and snacks are on the house. #Substances allowed. And, as previously stated, we will be watching The Gingerdread Man. #RosesPoolsideDriveIn #abcc-horror #abcc-filmleader #abcc https://hyperbeam.com/i/OCFpuNFD

Hello, Chittr. Against my better judgment, tonight's feature for #RosesPoolsideDriveIn is going to conjoin my call for very shitty movies. Tonight's film is The Gingerdead Man, directed by Charles Band and released in 2005. The premise is, in essence, exactly what the title has promised you: a murderous gingerbread man. Not metaphorically. Not as an elaborate exercise in postmodern interpretation. An actual homicidal pastry. After a convicted murderer is executed, his ashes somehow find their way into a batch of gingerbread dough, producing an ambulatory confection with murder on its tiny mind an...Read more
