READING ONTO THE RECORD! while obviously i deeply passionately love casual #tmtg & it has an almost uniquely dear place in my heart, there sure is something to be said for a real, high-stakes, winner-take-all, single-elimination, lives-on-the-line, nose-to-the-grindstone, endurance-test tournament. in other news i had a great wipeend. shoutout to my buddy trolly who lost like three fingers to a particularly nasty nekusar combo & kept playing anyway you're a real one

SIDEBAR! every once in a while His Honorable Tyranny just doesn't show up for trial so if opposing counsel is chill (and many opposing counsels aren't fucking chill lmao) Hallowen & Co.'s official policy to pass the time is play card games on the floor with them. obviously #tmtg is preferred but there is also something satisfying about fleecing someone in troll poker for everything they're worth... it makes me nostalgic for when my lusus first taught me how to play

OBJECTION! there's a lot of discourse around universes beyond in #tmtg and i really want to defend it because i mostly like it but the art direction alone in the turtles set pisses me off so bad. mechanically it's at least more interesting than spiderman imo because that was a nothingburger all around but i hate it
