War is based on two ideas that many fail to understand: that 1) you have to break as much of the enemy's stuff as possible, and 2) that you need to keep your own stuff from being broken. This includes people.
Make sure your soldiers have food and supplies when you send them out. And remember you can only send them so far before they need to stop and rest.
If the options are get in a fight you'll lose or don't get in that fight, don't get in that fight.
