The main difference lies in the fact that rain8ow drinkers retain their sapience and have a much more unique requirement for transformation. Rain8ow drinkers are exclusive to the jade8lood caste, and it's unknown whether this transformation is a defense mechanism to ena8le them to continue protecting the Mothergru8 or if it is merely a rare genetic quirk of their physiology. As opposed to that, there hasn't 8een recorded data of shadow droppers retaining any sem8lance of the trolls they were in life, though rumors a8ound a8out them feasting on the thinksponges of trolls in order to regain some sem8lance of the self that they had lost. They are also not exclusive to any caste, 8ut an interesting phenomenon occurs after a corpse 8ecomes a shadow dropper, wherein the 8lood heavily congeals and darkens until it is completely 8lack!
