Honestly, it's incredible how many seadwellers fail to recognize certain elements of our Empire's status quo as political stratagem ~~ Soon enough we'll have a generation of weak leaders too caught up in buying their own product to make intelligent decisions ~~

A terrible pity, seeing the treatment these helms go through. I was under the impression pilotbatteries had been largely phased out of the fleet, given how costly it is to force one into submission. Nevermind the fact that compliance is hardly guaranteed ~~ Much simpler to use a helm solely as a power source and hire a pilot who wants to be there. Though still a ghastly business, of course. I do very much approve of the newer ships that run on actual engines instead of psionic power ~~ Of course, we'll never be rid of the practice entirely. It's a vital threat in the Empire's arsenal. I can scarcely imagine the types of rebellion we would witness without it ~~

Shall I expand upon the politics of my Alternia? I do so love to exposit, and it would be de~lightful to explain something beyond the current scope of my pupil's lessons ~~ Our gl~orious Empire is, of course, ruled by an Empress, as I'm sure you well expect. But the universe, you see, is a remarkably large place, and her Majesty cannot be everywhere at once ~~ For us, this is where the lesser fuchsias come in. Not of the Imperial bloodline, they are not permitted to duel the Empress for the throne. They may, however, duel each other for power. Colonies and Alternian territories alike are divvied up and claimed by these lot, overseen by them in the Empress' absence ~~ Beneath the fuchsias, you find us violets, typically serving as the boots-on-the-ground policy makers, the seconds in command, the direct line to those un~touchable mighty few ~~ As for purples: Regional Grand Highbloods are common here, appointed by their own regional rulers and given free reign to subbjugglate and enforce the Empire's values in their territories. You will oft find them working at a scale violets, with fewer numbers and a less centralized culture, simply cannot ~~ In truth, our Empress has not been seen in quite some time. Some wonder--and this is rather controversial to say--whether she is still out there at all. At the end of the night, I suppose that matters very little. The Empire expands as always. The politics keep politicking ~~

Perhaps I should scope out the number of ornery fuchsias present on this site before I consider sharing details of mine (and by extension, the young Heiress') ~~ From the looks of it, most of the royals I've seen are across dimensional lines, and would, I assume, pose very little trouble ~~ My, how marvelous that would be. The squeakbeast race on my own Alternia is a tremendously tiresome thing ~~
