Genuinely I think she thinks I am being hyperbolic when I talk about what I've done to keep my knight with me. So let me be abundantly clear. I once played the game so many of you speak of, and my heart, my one and only, my dearest knight... died very early in our session due to certain circumstances within our game. The other players at our metaphorical table were ignorant, cruel, and small-minded, and would have prevented me (and certainly tried, too) from seeing him safely resurrected per the games terms for my perceived sins. So I unmade them. All of them. And everything else along with them. Save for my Knight, my Joseph. Love does not do anything by halves.
I feel it best that I extend a formal apology, to Laika and those who love them. Last night, I helped them relapse. I offered them alcohol, and did not even try rescind that offer after finding out they were four months sober. I was already more inebriated than usual myself, and I believed at the time that allowing them to get plastered would keep them from doing something worse. Selfishly, though, I think I just wanted someone to get wasted with. I'm sorry, Laika. Please, please don't blame yourself. You were vulnerable, and I was irresponsible. For what it's worth, I was glad to have you around either way.
