On this day of rest I find myself wondering why they were called kingdoms when they were all democratic from inception. Perhaps it is simply the word we were used to. If it were up to me I think I would have been partial to the term polities and made them far more cosmopolitan to begin with, but... I suppose I have only one vision for the future out of many.
