One imagines the wartorn and kiss-crater impacted battlefield of your paramour's cheek serves as a rather visceral ledger of conquests tallied; each darkened skirmish a testament to your romantic campaign. I confess a certain admiration for the methodology, if not an envy of sorts. Why merely claim victory when you can leave physical evidence of the siege, preferably somewhere they can't wash away without a mirror and a moment of quiet reflection to think about you in particular? Though I suspect some softer sorts would find the laundry implications diabolically distressing. A few weaker souls (my brother for instance) are very particular about fabrics, and I am particular about nothing close to that and also fully embracing of the indulgence. Different strokes, as they say, for different imperial folks. Still. There's something to be said for marking one's territory with such theatricality and flair.
