I want to clarify that my recent statements about troll suitability as parents were meant to be *positive*, and in response to statements one Vriska Serket has made off-Chittr. I'm quite sorry if anyone took my statement to be insulting, and will try hard to be clearer about what I'm saying.
Actually I take back what I just said in a thread. Vriska is doing an absolutely terrible job as a mother. She's barely even doing anything herself, just leaving it all to June! I know she didn't have a very good role model, but we've literally seen trolls doing better, I don't think she can use her species as an excuse!

genuinely, the phrase is structured in a way that has a weighty negative connotation. like. "we've literally seen trolls doing better" implies that the ability to make a decent guardian to a child is noteworthy and surprising. i'm sure you didn't mean it in a super sharp way. but that is how it reads.

It does feel a bit like that - but, at the same time, I'm aware that at times I rather *need* to be brow-beaten to get it through my thick skull that I'm in the wrong. So, no offense is taken, and I thank you for trying to help me!
It is pretty funny that we used to make all those jokes about "Life aspect = breeding", and I'm among the last humans in our group to become a parent, with only Dirk being the odd one out now. Then again, I am only the second of our number to get pregnant, so there's that?

Yes, she (and Calliope) adopted a troll grub! Her name's Elspeth, and she's a rowdy little thing already at age four, always getting into playground fights - but she's a good egg at heart; she's quite well-behaved whenever they bring her over.
