The breastplates were massive, the devices were only ever used by Indigob100ds after all due to our BRAVERY and RESILLIENCE to getting repeatedly shot at. Unfortunately they were retired as weapons platforms as the mortality rate for a driver was around 300% with a 200% margin of error after two sweeps. Our bows, for what other weapon would a noble rider employ, could pierce even the toughest of hulls but the sad fact is that getting shot at by guns is not good for the muscle density of even the strongest of indigo b100ds and the hippocampi would struggle under all the metal and muscle and sweat. Still, I believe it was one of the Empire's greatest mistake to forget the concept. Perhaps some Feferis will reconsider that decision now that I have dusted off their forgotten majesty.
